SmokeShow v1.1
Less guesswork. Better next cooks.
SmokeShow v1.1 is built around the real lifecycle of a cook: plan before the fire, smoke while it is live, and journal the notes worth repeating.
Why this release matters
Smoking is slow enough for doubt to build and variable enough for fake certainty to get you into trouble. The previous SmokeShow experience worked, but setup, live status, charts, rest actions, and completed records lived close together. Version 1.1 gives each stage a job.
Plan before the fire
Plan owns setup: cut preset, weight in kilograms or pounds, smoker temperature, target internal temperature, beef doneness where relevant, projected smoke-time range, and suggested first manual probe check. The improved weight controls support exact decimal values as well as one-handed adjustment, and smoker planning now reaches lower low-and-slow temperatures down to 107 C / 225 F.
Smoke while it is live
When a cook is active, SmokeShow opens to Smoke. Latest probe, next check, remaining estimate, and Log Probe are the priority. Multiple active cooks, progress insight, charts, wrap guidance, rest actions, widgets, Live Activities, reminders, and Shortcuts all support the same live-cook job: keep you oriented without pretending the phone took the temperature.
Journal what you learned
Completed cooks now belong in Journal. Notes, ratings, favourites, media references, final readings, and native sharing make the next cook start with memory instead of guesswork.
What is new
- Plan, Smoke, and Journal app structure.

- Lower smoker planning support down to 107 C / 225 F.
- Improved weight entry with precise decimal input, slider, and step controls.
- Start Cook flow treats the initial probe as optional.
- Active cook layout puts live status and Log Probe first.
- Journal shows completed cooks only and groups them by time.
- Copy, spacing, glass, motion, and active Smoke visuals are more polished.
Still manual. Still honest.
SmokeShow does not connect to Bluetooth thermometers, read sensors, or control your smoker. Enter readings manually from a real food thermometer. Cooking estimates, doneness targets, wrap advice, and rest guidance are approximate. Always verify safe serving temperatures with a real thermometer and current official food-safety guidance.
SmokeShow is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Ninja, SharkNinja, or Ninja Woodfire.
What to test
If you join the TestFlight, focus on the real cook path: start from Plan, return during an active cook, log manual probe readings, try multiple active cooks if your smoker is busy, finish and rest where relevant, then save a completed cook to Journal.
